ITANAGAR, Feb 22 - Arunachal Pradesh Assembly on Friday passed the Vote-on-Account of Rs 3,455.48 crore for the first four months of the next financial year 2019-2020.
The Vote-on-Account for 83 Government departments to defray the expenditures from April 1 to July 31, 2019 was passed by voice vote following a brief discussion. The House also passed the Supplementary Demands for Grants for the year 2018-19.
With the Assembly election due in next two-three months along with the Parliamentary polls, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Thursday presented the Vote on Account to meet up State�s expenditure for the aforesaid period till a full-fledged Budget is placed in the Assembly by the new government.
Sharing the resource position of the State during the current financial year, Mein informed that the share of Central taxes grew from actual receipt of Rs 9,238.79 crore in 2017-18 to Rs 10,798.47 crore in revised estimate (RE) of 2018-19.
The State�s own tax revenue in the RE of 2018-19 was Rs 1,200 crore as against receipt of Rs 899.19 crore in 2017-18 growing at 33 per cent. The non-tax revenue in the RE of 2018-19 is estimated at Rs 900 crore as against the collection of Rs 699.30 crore in 2017-18 showing a growth of almost 29 per cent. The total tax and non-tax revenue of the State in RE 2018-19 is Rs 2,100 crore as against the receipt of Rs 1,598.49 crore in 2017-18, he added.
As against the Budget Estimate for 2018-19 fixed at Rs 18,652.50 crore, the Revised Estimate for the year has been fixed at Rs 22,070.31 crore, Mein informed.
