VK Pipersenia new State Chief Secy

GUWAHATI, May 31 � Vinod Kumar Pipersenia took over charge as Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam today. Retiring Chief Secretary Jitesh Khosla, while handing over the charge, wished him success in the presence of other senior officials at the State Secretariat.

Pipersenia, an IAS officer of the 1980 batch of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, will be the 45th Chief Secretary of the State.

Born on August 5, 1957 at Konch, Uttar Pradesh, Pipersenia�s first assignment was that of an Assistant Commissioner in Dhubri district. He also served in various capacities such as SDO (Civil), Nalbari, Deputy Commissioner of Nalbari, Joint Secretary, Health, and Secretary, Revenue.

While on deputation, he has also worked with the Government of India in various ministries such as Home, Industry, Human Resources Development, etc. He has also served as Financial Adviser in the Ministry of Human Resources Development as well as the Financial Commissioner in Employees� State Insurance Corporation under the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

During his tenure in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Assam State Disaster Management Authority had taken shape and the majority of the districts had undergone transition from manual to computerised processes. The mission mode implementation of the Computerisation of Registration Project won the National e-Governance Award in 2013.
