GUWAHATI, March 30 - The vision document 2030 of Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University was released today by the VC of Gauhati University Dr Mridul Hazarika at a function held here.
In his speech, Dr Hazarika appreciated the effort of the open university in chalking out its roadmap and said that the educational institute should focus on imparting quality education.
Dr Hazarika also dwelt at length on the present challenges in the education sector and said that importance should be given to both expansion of education as well as maintaining the quality of education.
Educationist Taburam Taid, while speaking on the occasion, expressed concern at the challenges that have been encountered by the education sector in the State and said that the need of the hour is to improve the quality of education.
The VC of Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University Dr Hitesh Deka said that the university believes in the process of life-long learning and hence it is committed to empowering human resources for carrying forward its mission of social responsibility. �The university has a two-fold desire to enlarge its vision � first at the regional level to emerge as a people�s university and at a wider level to emerge as a transnational university,� Dr Deka revealed.
