GUWAHATI, May 16 - Assam boy Vinit Rai, who is currently playing for the Indian senior football team, has signed for the Kerala Blasters and will play for the Kerala team in the forth coming Indian Super League (ISL). Confirming this his father Sanjib Rai, who was a national level spinter, said the junior Rai signed for Kerala Blasters yesterday and will stay with the team for this season. Currently Vinit is playing for the Dempo Sports Club of Goa.
Sanjib Rai further stated that, his son was willing to play for the North East United Football Club, but the John Abraham owned team did not show any interest on him. The lanky central mid-fielder has been in the Indian senior squad and picked for the national team for the 2019 Asian Cup qualifier away match against Laos to be held on June 2. Vinit will arrive here on May 19 to attend the Indian team�s camp which will be held at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Sarusajai from May 19. The Sarusajai stadium will host the play off home match against Laos on June 7.
