GUWAHATI, Oct 2 - Like previous years, the festival of Vijaya Dashami would be celebrated at the Nehru Stadium here on October 22 under the aegis of the Assam Vijaya Dashami Mahotsav Samity.
Along with staging of Ramleela, the effigy of Ravan would be torched symbolizing the victory of good over the evil.
Along with Ravan, the effigies of Meghnaad, Kumbhakarna and Ahiravan would also be torched. The organisers are doing brisk preparations for celebrating the occasion in a grand manner. �Fireworks from Barpeta and Tamilnadu would be brought for the purpose,� said the committee�s chairman Ram Niranjan Goenka. Ramleela would be staged from 4 pm at the Nehru Stadium.
