Victory historic: Tripura CM

By Correspondent

AGARTALA, May 23 - Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb today termed the BJPs landslide victory in the Lok Sabha election in the country as historic.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, the Hindu heartland had given the edge to the saffron party to rule the country for five years, but this time (2019 Lok Sabha election) the party has won constituencies spread over all the regions North India, South India, East India and North East, he said.

The Chief Minister said, It is the victory of Narendra Modis leadership ability and well-designed poll strategy of Amit Shah. I salute both of them for leading the BJP to a landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections.

Deb, who had extensively campaigned for the party candidates in West Bengal, took a dig at Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee. The people of Bengal have given a befitting reply to West Bengal Chief Minister for her autocratic rule as the BJP has already made inroads there.

Besides criticising the CPI(M) for its negative role in the run-up to the Parliamentary elections, the Chief Minister appreciated Pradyot Kishore Debbarman for taking the party to a respectable position in the Parliamentary elections. The Congress has increased its vote share to 25-26 per cent within a short period of time for which he deserves praise, the Chief Minister said.
