Veteran football from Nov 15

GUWAHATI, Sept 13 - The United Brothers Club (UBC) will organise the International Veterans� Football Championship which will kick off at the Judges� Field here from November 15.

Informing this, the organisers said that this year the championship will be confined to 12 teams. Apart from teams from different cities of the country, teams from neighbouring countries like Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan will also be seen in action in the tournament which is open for players above 40 years only.

The semifinals and the final are slated for November 18 and prior to the final, an exhibition match between Zubeen Garg XI and Media XI will be played.

UBC president Pronoy Bordoloi, vice president Shivaji Jayswal and general secretary Dhiraj Dutta revealed in a press conference here today that several teams from Manipur, Meghalaya, Sikkim are willing to take part in the tournament. A good number of former international players will take part in the tournament representing Kolkata outfits.
