GUWAHATI, Oct 17: The Veteran Cricket Association of Assam (VCAA) will host their 21st Foundation Day on October 19 at the Lily Hotel here.
Addressing the media to reveal about the programme, VCAA president Naba Konwar and secretary Nasir Gul Khan said, this time they had to postpone the event for few days due to BCCI domestic schedule as their foundation day falls on October 10.
Former India cricketer and general manager, cricket operation of BCCI Syed Saba Karim will be present on the occasion as chief guest.
MP Queen Oja; Dr Lakshmanan S; Director of Sports, Dharma Kanta Mili; Additional Secretary Deba Prasad Mishra; ACA president Romen Dutta; Treasurer Tridib Konwar; Chief GM of SBI (NER circle) Sunil Kumar Tandon; Sports journalist Bidyut Kalita among others will be present as guests in the function.
State Ranji cricketers Mukhtar Hussain, Arup Das, Ranjit Mali, Gokul Sharma, Shivam Mandal (U-16), Amlanjyoti Das (U-19), Biplab Saikia (U-21), Gayatri Gurung (girls U-19), Rashmi Dey (U-23), Monikha Das (senior) will be honoured by the VCAA for their performances during the last season.
Three organizers � AHM Ali (Nurul Amin Sports Organiser Award), Anupam Choudhury (Nilimoy Choudhury Cricket Coach Award) and Ganesh Tamuly (VCAA Life Time Achievement Award) will be felicitated with cash award of Rs 30,000 each, revealed the organisers.
