GUWAHATI, Jan 31 � ln a bid to promote young talent in cricket, the Veteran CricketAssociation of Assam submitted a memorandum to Anjan Sarma, Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, Govt of Assam yesterday urging the revival of the Khakan Ahmed Trophy inter-district school cricket tournament and holding an inter-school U-16 cricket tournament in districts.

The memo also stated recruitment of cricketers as coaches (National Cricket Academy Level A, B, C), regular payment of sports pension. Anjan Sarma has assured assistance from the department. The director assured that the Khakan Ahmed Trophy U-19 lnter District School CricketTournament will be held at the end of this year.

The delegation was represented by Mukut Das, Raju Phukan, Sajjad Zaheer Hussain and secretary Nasir Gul Khan, stated a press release.
