IMPHAL, April 26 - Miss Veronica Awungshi bagged the Miss Spring 2018 title during the State level beauty pageant held in Ukhrul, 84 km from Imphal on Wednesday night.
The beauty pageant was organised as part of the Shirui Lily festival which began on April 24 at the hill town. Veronica went home richer with a cheque of Rs 2 lakh. The 21-year-old Tangkhul is currently studying in the National capital.
The Best graceful walk title went to Danube Kangjam, Best hair title to Wungchanphy Lungleng, Best personality title to Sushna Maibam and Best arms and legs title to Sushma Longjam. Altogether 15 girls from different communities took part in the beauty and brain contest.
Meanwhile, on the third day of the Shirui Lily festival, different forms of traditional dances including the Maibi and Thougal Jagoi were performed. Artistes from Assam also performed the famous Jhumur dance. People from different parts of the country and foreigners are visiting the festival.
