Venkat T Mare takes charge of Borjhar IAF Station

GUWAHATI, May 7 - Air Commodore Venkat T Mare took over charge of Air Force Station Borjhar, from Air Commodore Shashank Misra VM on May 6.

Air Commodore Mare is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla. He was commissioned in the Flying Branch of the Indian Air Force as helicopter pilot on June 16, 1990. The officer is an experienced helicopter pilot with 6,000 flying hours and has extensively flown in the North East and Jammu and Kashmir in various operational roles.

Air Commodore Mare previously commanded an operational helicopter unit in the North East and an Air Force Station in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

He has also served in the UN Mission in Democratic Republic of Congo.
