Vehicles distributed

GUWAHATI, March 18 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today distributed vehicles to inspector of schools at a functioned at the Assam secretarial complex here, stated an official press release. Altogether 20 vehicles were distributed which costs Rs 72 lakh.

Speaking at a function organised on the occasion by the State education department at the Chief Minister�s conference hall, Gogoi said that a long-felt need of the school inspectors has been fulfilled with the allocation of vehicles to them. He exhorted upon the school inspectors to carry out regular inspection of the educational institutions which would help in improving the standard of education in the State.

The chief minister said that his government has all along laid emphasis on education without which no State or society can make progress. �Education is the catalyst for growth and development and it is by spreading the light of knowledge we can take out State along the high road to glory and prosperity.�

Gogoi said that his government has given priority not only towards spreading education but also in imparting quality education, �Quality education is the need of the hour,� he added.

Minister for Education, Gautam Bora, urged the inspector of schools to conduct regular inspection of the schools and to send reports to the government on time.
