VCAA prog on Sept 23

GUWAHATI, Sept 17 - The Veteran Cricket Association of Assam (VCAA) will observe its Foundation Day on September 23 instead of October 10 due to busy international schedule in the city.

On October 10 the VCAA will step into its 19th year and usually they celebrate the Foundation Day with various programmes on that day.

This year the veteran cricketers� body will honour various former and present cricketers for their contributions on the occasion where Assam Governor Banwari Lal Purohit will be the chief guest. Former Indian Test player Karsan Ghavri will attend the function as guest of the evening, stated a release.

The persons and players to be honoured are: Nurul Amin Sports Organiser Award: Sahajananda Oja (Nagaon), VCAA Life Time Acheivement Award for Cricketers: Narendra Nath Sabhapandit (Jorhat), VCAA Life Time Acheivement Award for Coach: Nabab Ali (Guwahati). Award for performers in BCCI Tournaments: U-16, Denish Das, U-19, Rabul Singh, U-23, Sunzow Brahma, Ranji Trophy, Arup Das, Girls U-19, Rashmi Dey, U-23, Nirupama Boro, Cricketer of the Year: Riyan Parag.
