SHILLONG, March 22 - The Civil Society Womens Organisation (CSWO) today condemned the acts of vandalism and terror indulged in by miscreants during the rally organised by the Khasi Students Union to mark its 40th anniversary on Tuesday last.

As a society, we cannot tolerate such acts and urge the people who were affected to come forward with any videos so as to help in the nabbing of the culprits, Agnes Kharshiing, president of CSWO, said.

She said that the Government should ensure that the law is equal for all citizens, and that such terror acts are not allowed. FIRs should be filed by the administration when any incident causing harm to people and public property is brought to its notice.

Several shops were damaged as stones were pelted during the KSU rally. One person also sustained injuries during the attack.
