GAURIPUR, Dec 20 - The valedictory session of the Asam Sahitya Sabha centenary celebration is scheduled to be held at two separate places � at Pramathesh Baruah College, Gauripur and at Chilarai College, Golakganj on December 26 next.
A symposium on literature and culture in memory of renowned story writer Shilabhadra, the illustrious son of Gauripur, will be held in the auditorium hall of Pramathesh Barua College and retired judge of the Supreme Court, Dr Mukundakam Sarma, son of Late Pandit Tirthanath Sarma, founder Principal of Pragjyotish College will address the symposium as the chief guest.
At Chilarai College, Golakganj, a symposium on language, literature and culture will be held in memory of Bhuban Chandra Prodhani, the architect of Golakganj and an ex-MLA of Golakganj LAC. Dr Hemanta Kumar Baruah, Vice-Chancellor of Bodoland University will attend the seminar as the chief guest while Lurinjyoti Gogoi and Dipanka Nath, general secretary and president of the All Assam Students� Union are also expected to take part. The reception committee has already made all efforts to make the concluding ceremony of the centenary celebration a success at the historic Prabhat Chandra Baruah playground named as Simanta Prahari Pramath Nath Chakravarty Kshetra from December 25-27 next.
