GUWAHATI, June 5 - The University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya will hold its 2nd Convocation at Techno City Campus on June 10. Vice chancellors of three oldest universities in India, Prof Girish Chandra Tripathi, VC, BHU, Prof Ashutosh Ghosh, VC, University of Calcutta and Prof Sanjay V Deshmukh, VC, Mumbai University will grace the occasion, a press release said.
Honorary Doctorate of Science will be conferred on Prof Mihir Kanti Chaudhuri, former VC, Tezpur University and honorary D.Litt on Dr DD Lapang, former Meghalaya Chief Minister.
USTM, started in 2011, has more than 3,500 students from all over North East. During the convocation, 518 students will receive post-graduate degree, 61 under-graduate degree and four scholars will be awarded Ph.D degree.
