UDALGURI, Jan 21 - Those people who have accepted the Assamese language as the third language are an inseparable part of the greater Assamese society. Use of Assamese language by all those is indeed a positive sign for us.� This was observed by Dr Dhrubajyoti Bora, president of the Asam Sahitya Sabha, while attending a reception at the Udalguri Sahitya Sabha Bhavan recently on the occasion of Silpi Divas.
Attending a reception programme organized by the Udalguri Sahitya Sabha with GJ Talukdar, president of Udalguri Sahitya Sabha in the chair, on his way to Panery to participate in the Silpi Divas organized centrally by the literary organization in association with the Udalguri district committee and the Panery unit, Dr Bora further said that the Asam Sahitya Sabha has been keen to explore the talents of the new and young generation and Assamese is at present ranked 57th among the languages of the world. He also appealed to all concerned to create a congenial atmosphere so that the mother tongue can be used on all possible fronts.
