UDALGURI, Oct 7 - The Kahibari Sports Club got the better of Kabirali Adivashi Club 3-0 in the inaugural match of the 22nd Bodofa Upen Brahma Gold Cup Football Championship which got under way at the Udalguri Stadium here today.
As the first half witnessed no development by either sides, the second half of the match turned much aggressive and the local outfit Kahibari SC boys netted three goals. Kahibari striker Torsis Sangma netted two in 53rd and 56th minutes while another striker Arindam Dev added one more to make it easy 3-0 win to enter the next round.
Earlier, Sadhana Hojai, Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri district inaugurated the championship while working president of Udalguri District Sports Association hoisted the UDSA flag on the occasion followed by floral tributes to the Bodofa UN Brahma by Prodeep Kr Daimary, the former MCLA of BTC.
