GUWAHATI, Oct 27 - The 7th Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics� Forum 2019, will be held at a city hotel on November 5 and 6.
The Eastern Himalayan Naturenomics� Forum 2019 will serve as a dialogue, in finding new ways to drive sustainable action to build rural futures.
�Through the macroscopic theme of �Rural Futures: Nature Capital Towards Universal Basic Assets�, the forum will capture the need for a nature-centred economy to support a holistic growth of communities, as well as conserve biodiversity and natural resources,� Balipara Foundation, the organisers, said in a statement.
The event will see around 60 eminent personalities from multi-disciplinary fields from across 17 countries, who will engage in the discourse on nature capital and its impact on Universal Basic Assets.
Some of the personalities attending the forum as speaker this year include Ambassador Chandrashekhar Dasgupta, Prime Minister�s Council for Climate Change, India; renowned historian and author Rudrangshu Mukherjee, Chancellor; Professor of History at Ashoka University; Karuna A Singh, Country Director for Earth Day India; Thu Zaw, Chief Executive Officer of Sithar Coffee, Myanmar; Vance Martin, Vice President of WILD Foundation, US; Dr Anish Andheria, President of the Wildlife Conservation Trust; Bittu Sahgal, environmental activist, writer and the founder of�the Sanctuary Nature Foundation; Arupjyoti Saikia, Professor in History in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati; Kamal Kumar Tanti, Assistant Professor of Physics at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Assam.
The forum will be followed by�the Balipara Foundation Social Recognition Awards�to recognise and accolade the Earth Heroes, who are working tirelessly towards natural, social and ecological environment of the Eastern Himalayas.
