GUWAHATI, May 25 � Uttar Pradesh boys downed Assam 3-1 in the final of the 8th National Sub Junior (U-14) Rollball Championship at the Laxmibai National Institute of Physical Education complex, Tepesia, Sonapur today.
In the keenly contested title clash Shryesh netted two goals while Ribro added one for the winning team while Mahesh reduced the margin. Earlier, in the semifinals Assam earned hard-fought 11-7 victory against Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh tamed Jharkhand 15-3.
In the girls section Uttar Pradesh defeated Maharashtra 5-2 to win the crown. In the closing function ADGP Pradip Kumar, Jt Director, Health Dr NJ Das, secretary general of Rollball Federation of India Raju Davade were present as guests.
The championship was organised by the Assam Rollball Association.
