Surendra Nath Sarma

Patacharkuchi, Jan 24: Surendra Nath Sarma, retired BDO of the Bajali Block and a resident of Sariha Chakla village here, died on January 19 due to old-age ailments. He was 92.

He started his career as an extension officer in the panchayat and rural development department and was later promoted to the post of BDO. He was also one of the first persons to study at Santiniketan.

He leaves behind his wife, three sons, two daughters, daughters-in-law, sons-in-laws and grandsons. He was associated with various organizations and was a good sportsman in his heyday. His death was widely mourned. – ANN Service

Pramod Das

Patacharkuchi, Jan 24: Pramod Das, a petition writer of the Bajali revenue circle office, succumbed to the injuries he had received in a road accident on the NH-31 in Marka area recently.

He was 85.

He leaves behind his wife, three sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren.

He was associated with various organizations of the locality. – ANN Service
