GUWAHATI, Jan 17: Sanchita Production Private Limited launched the first over-the-top (OTT) video streaming platform of Northeast called Hello TV here at Guwahati Press Club on Sunday.

It is a subscription based video on demand platform which will provide web series, short films, feature films, shows, music videos and informative programmes among others in local languages of the Northeast including in Assamese.

The platform will contain programmes for children, youths, aged persons and housewives etc.

“The Hello TV OTT platform will serve as a one-stop destination for entertainment. Initially, it will offer 11 web shows and several movies in Assamese, Bengali and Koch Rajbongshi languages. There is a movie in Karbi language called Inglong. We are also working in projects in Bodo, Tiwa and Nagamese languages,” Sanchita Production Private Limited's chief managing director Jyoti Kakati said.

“In Assam and the Northeast, there is not a single entertainment app in local regional language. There are many Youtube channels including news, videos and current affairs with lakhs of viewers but no app for web series, short films, movies and other shows in our north-eastern languages. The platform will serve the interest of the people of the State and the entire people of Northeast,” he added.
