GUWAHATI, Aug 9 - Unruly scenes were witnessed at the NF Railway Central Hospital, Maligaon, this morning after the death of a patient who was admitted to the hospital.

Official sources said the patient, Jatin Chandra Das (34), a sanitary cleaner at the Indian Railways, had been admitted to the hospital yesterday after he suffered a stroke.

However, the patient died this morning. Following his death, the patients relatives and some other locals converged at the hospital, alleging that he had died due to wrong treatment.

Police and RPF personnel had to be deployed at the place when the mob turned unruly. However, later officials were able to convince the relatives and others to leave the place.

While the cause of Das death was not yet known, officials said it was suspected that he suffered another stroke this morning.
