Unruly audience pelt stones at Bollywood singer Shaan in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, Oct 29: Popular Bollywood singer Shaan was reportedly pelted stones at by a section of unruly audience after the singer started signing a Bengali number at a function organised at Sarusajai stadium on Sunday evening, drawing criticisms from various quarters.

The 'unwarranted' act made Shaan livid and he appealed to the audience not to carry such a divisive mindset. "India is one and we should not hold qualms against any language," the singer said.

Shaan, known for giving several hits in Bollywood, addressing the audience said he was performing despite fever and that he would not perform further if people behave in such a manner.

He was visibly angry and walked off to the backstage after the incident but soon returned at the request of the organisers, said a person who was present at the show.

It is still not known whether the organisers have lodged any complaint in connection with the incident.

Meanwhile , videos showing a section of audience resorting to vandalism has also become viral.
