By Correspondent

SILCHAR, March 25 United Sikkim FC thrashed Hindustan FC 5-2 in their must-win game in the 2nd Division I-League match at the SM Dev stadium here today.

Even as United Sikkim kicked off on a rusty note and remained behind the Delhi team by 2-1 till the first half, the side looked a completely different unit in the second half.

Moving on from its defensive approach, the Sikkim boys were more on the attack and created more scoring opportunities. Using the pass off from Amrit Pal Singh to perfection near the box, Mayal Dok Lepcha scored the equaliser in the 65th minute and two minutes later followed it with a brilliant kick to the net.

Oluwanwunmi Somide who scored the first goal for Sikkim was in the action throughout the match. He brought fresh life into the match scoring the 4th goal in the 74th minute and striker James Singh nailed the last pin in the coffin for Hindustan FC in the 87th minute.

The second match of the evening played between Bhawanipore FC and Royal Wahingdoh ended in a goalless draw. However, both teams played exciting football.

Bhawanipore dominated the major length of the match but failed to convert the chances into goals. Daniel Bidemi Ayeni, the star of the last match against Kalighat Milan Sangha, could not do much and even Jose Ramires Bareto, who replaced Ayeni in the 69th minute made no impact.
