Unique cardiac procedure performed

DIBRUGARH, July 19 - The Plexus Heart Centre, in collaboration with a private nursing home, here has claimed achievement in doing a double-vessel Angioplasty on a 61-year-old male patient weighing above 100 kg.

This is a very unique case which has been done successfully and probably the first time in Upper Assam, the team of doctors who conducted the double-vessel Angioplasty told newsmen here today. The doctors who performed the cardiac procedure on the patient, included Dr Awan Kumar, Dr Rohit Kumar, Dr Bornal Baruah, Dr Hiren Gogoi and Dr R Rathore.

�The patient was also a chronic smoker for more than 30 years. He had come with a complaint of sudden onset of chest pain with mild activity aggravation. It had also spread out to both his arms and lower jaws. The patient whose identity has been kept under wraps, was discharged without any problem or complication,� Dr Hiren Gogoi said.
