GUWAHATI, Dec 22 � Tathyakoshat Bhupen Hazarika, a unique encyclopaedic book on music maestro Dr Bhupen Hazarika, hit the stands recently. The book covering facts, fables and information on the life and times of the State�s cultural icon, has been compiled and edited by Santanu Kausik Baruah, a well-known name in publishing informatics.
The book has been divided into two chapters. The first deals with the facts and information, some of which are rare, on Dr Hazarika in an alphabetical order in Assamese from �A� to �Ha�, starting from �Agnijugar Firingati Moi� and ending with �Hemanga Biswas� whose works had an impact on Dr Hazarika. The second chapter includes the first lines of his songs and lyricists for whom he rendered his voice, singers who sang his songs, notes on his entire works � music direction, books, literary works, films, acting, number of books written on him, awards and accolades, a story written by him, among others.
The book also includes the reprint of the first issue of Bindu, the first micro-mini Assamese magazine edited by Dr Hazarika, a path-breaking endeavour which was launched in April, 1970. Apart from these, more than 200 photographs have been included along with numerous pieces in the maestro�s handwriting and quotes of people about him.
