SHILLONG, Aug 31 - Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri held a review meeting with Chief Minister Conrad Sangma here on Friday. Meghalaya Urban Affairs Minister Hamletson Dohling and senior officials of the State Urban Affairs Department were present on the occasion.
The key issues that came up for discussion included projects related to infrastructure development in the State. Puri also reviewed the progress of the flagship projects under the Union Urban Affairs Ministry, which are being implemented in the hill State.
Shillong has been chosen as one of the 100 cities across India to be developed as a Smart City. The Union minister discussed the road map to implement the mega project with the State ministers and officials. Assuring full cooperation and support from the Centre, Puri urged the State Government to work together with the Centre for early completion of all projects being implemented in Meghalaya.
