Union Minister hails NFR efforts

GUWAHATI, Sept 11 - Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi reviewed the freight loading and unloading performance of the NF Railway (NFR) through video conferencing with the NFR General Manager Sanjive Roy on Wednesday evening, stated a delayed press release.

All Divisional Railway Managers of NFR were also present on the occasion via video conferencing.

The NFR GM gave a brief presentation to the Minister covering all the aspects of freight movement till August 20. Roy told the Minister that 14 new locations in the NFR zone have been opened for loading and unloading of freight during the month of August and added that facilities at goods sheds have also been improved, resulting in speedier loading and unloading of goods trains. The Minister lauded the NFR�s efforts and asked the officials to give more impetus to loading of locally grown products like tea, bamboo, pineapple and ginger, apart from other agricultural and non-agricultural products.
