UNICEF training for tea garden doctors begins

TINSUKIA, Jan 30 - The Phase-I of two-day training programme of Medical Officers working in the tea garden hospitals in Tinsukia district was organised at Lokpriya Gopi Nath Bordoloi Hospital here recently.

With an aim to reduce maternal and infant mortality in the tea gardens, the training was organised under the National Health Mission, Tinsukia, and supported by the Tinsukia unit of the UNICEF.

As many as 20 medical officers took park in the programme. Dr Mridul Gogoi, in-charge and Dr Govinda Mahanta, medical officer, of LGB Civil Hospital, Tinsukia, imparted the training to the participants.

Dr Jyoti Bhuyan, Joint Director of District Health Services, and Purabi Gogoi, Sub Divisional Officer (Civil), Tinsukia, also attended the inaugural function of the programme.
