UNC to oppose controversial Manipur Bills

By Newmai News

IMPHAL, May 10 - The United Naga Council (UNC) today vowed to vehemently oppose any move by the Manipur government to convert the three controversial Manipur Bills into Acts.

The Naga bodys statement came close on the heels of Manipur governments decision to send an all-party delegation to New Delhi on May 16 to impress upon the Central leaders to find a workable solution to the Inner Line Permit (ILP) issue.

Our position remains unchanged. We are making it clear once again: we will oppose tooth and nail any policy of the Manipur government to turn the Bills into Acts, UNC president Gaidon Kamei told Newmai News Network.

Its very clear that well never compromise, Kamei reiterated.
