GOLAKGANJ, June 30 � Though the distribution and receipt of filled-up NRC forms has already started in Dhubri district along with the rest of the State, most of the illiterate people belonging to the BPL families are facing problems in filling up the complicated forms as well as in collection of legacy data.
Members of these BPL families are now left with no other option than to shell out money ranging from Rs 50 to Rs 300 to unauthorised people for filling up the form. This apart, they have to spend Rs 10 to Rs 50 for collection of necessary documents and Rs 150 to Rs 500 to prepare affidavits needed for name correction etc.This expenditure has become a headache for such BPL families.
Aklima Bewa, a poor and illiterate widow of Dhubri LAC had to pay Rs 100 to a person to fill up the NRC form. Moreover, she said that the form was filled up incorrectly. Sources alleged that many unauthorised centres have come up in Dhubri district which are making easy money in the name of NRC.
