KOKRAJHAR, May 28 � This time the Upendra Nath Brahma Trust (UNBT) has decided to confer the UN Brahma Soldier of Humanity Award, 2015 to the renowned social worker and anti witch-hunting activist Dr Birubala Rabha and the decision was taken in a meet of the Trust held on May 23 at Kokrajhar, on the recommendation of the Jury Board for the award, informed Rwngwra Narzary, Chairman, Upendra Nath Brahma Trust (UNBT) through a press statement.

It may be mentioned here that the UN Brahma Soldier of Humanity Award is presented annually to a person who has an immense contribution towards the uplift of the downtrodden. The �Mission Birubala� is a process of struggle against the superstitions prevailing in the society. Witch-hunting is an evil practice which has destroyed the social moral as a whole. Dr Rabha�s movement against witch-hunting needs to be carried forward to the worldwide arena and the Trust feels proud to honour such a great personality through this prestigious civil award, the statement said. The award carries a memento, prize money and a citation.
