GUWAHATI, June 25 - Former Ranji Trophy player and principal of the Gauhati Commerce College Umesh Chandra Sharma passed away this evening at his Uzanbazar residence here. He was 80.
A leading sportsperson and educationist Sharma contributed immensely for the development of cricket in the State. His death was condoled by the Assam Cricket Association and Veteran Cricket Association, Assam, of which he was founder president.
He leaves behind his wife and a daughter.
