NALBARI, July 16 - The bid to escape by an undertrial NDFB militant Mithinga Narzary from the Nalbari court premises was foiled with the help of the local people here on Thursday. The police also opened two rounds of blank fire to nab the fleeing militant.
According to sources, the police brought the NDFB militant to the court in a routine appearance. However, the militant taking advantage of security lapse, managed to escape from the court premises and entered the residential areas in front of the Court. The police also followed the fleeing militant. The local people immediately caught the militant and handed him over to the police. The militant hails from Tamulpur area in Nalbari district.
Ultra held: Acting on a tip- off, Army jawans arrested an NDFB militant, identified as Rupak Narzari of Beteni village in Chirang district, from a bus at Ghograpar in Nalbari district on Wednesday.
