ULFA(I) linkmen held

TINSUKIA, June 10 - Tinsukia Police, with the help of the personnel of Bordubi Police Station, nabbed two linkmen of the United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent), Lakhyajit alias Akon Gogoi, son of Purna Kanta Gogoi, and Subhash Gogoi, son of late Bisheswar Gogoi, on Wednesday night. Both of them hail from Matiakhana village under the Bordubi Police Station.

The police also seized live ammunition and two mobile handsets from them. According to the police, the duo was involved in several cases of extortion.

On the same night, the police apprehended one Anupam Gogoi alias Baba, son of Baikuntha Nath Gogoi of Kukurekhuwa under the Tinsukia Police Station.

All the three arrests were made in connection with the Bordubi Police Station Case No. 50/16 U/S 121/120(B) of the IPC (read with Sections 10/13 UA(P) R/W Sec 27 of the Arms Act).
