GUWAHATI, Jan 1 - Dispur police late last night arrested one ULFA(I) cadre, Bitopan Sonowal (22), from Panjabari area. He hails from Kawoimari area of Namrup.
According to the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Dispur) Himangshu Das, Bitopan is very close to ULFA(I) chairperson Abhijit Asom. He entered the city on December 29. No weapon or document was found in his possession.
A case has been registered against him under Section 120B, 121, 121A of IPC and Section 10 and 13 of the UAP Act. A court here today sent him to two days� police remand.
