ULFA observes Raising Day

DOOMDOOMA, April 7 � The pro-talk group of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) today observed its 32nd Raising Day in the designated camp at Kakopather near here.

On the occasion, ULFA chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa hoisted the ULFA flag and the political adviser of the outfit Bhimkanta Buragohain, performed swahid tarpan.

Later, an open session was held under the presidentship of Arabinda Rajkhowa while ULFA vice-chairman Pradeep Gogoi explained the objective of the meeting. In his address the ULFA chairman said that for the peace talks ULFA had prepared an agenda including all the core problems of the State. He urged all sections of the people to extend cooperation to the peace process.

In the meeting, the family members of those ULFA cadres who sacrificed their lives for the cause were felicitated. The Raising Day programme was also attended by the convener of Sanmilita Jatiya Abhibartan, Dr Rohini Kr Baruah, ULFA leaders Sasha Chawdhury, Chitraban Hazarika, Pranati Deka, Heera Saraniya, Biju Deka, Mrinal Hazarika, Prabal Neog, Jiten Dutta and several distinguished personalities.
