ULFA leader surrenders

TEZPUR, Sept 14 � A hardcore ULFA leader in charge of the outfit�s medical wing in Myanmar, Rajib Saikia alias Mike Antony surrendered before the Eastern Command Counter Intelligence Unit at Tezpur in the last part of August.

He joined ULFA in 1998 in cultural wing and went to Myamnmar in 2002. He was made in-charge of medical wing of ULFA in 2004. He has been providing medical cover from 2002 to 2010 to all cadres of ULFA at three camps in Myanmar, namely 28 Bn Hq at Panshu and Meenakshu, ULFA council Hq at Nyamung and Akran camp at Panchu.

The surrendered cadre talking to media personnel at Lakshan Marg, Tezpur today, said he was given duties to impart guerrilla training and medical training to the new recruits. Till date he had trained about 250 cadres, he added.

Rajib further added that, the ULFA cadres were frustrated after arrest of their top leaders. He had met Jibon Maran at Myanmar camp, he said.

There are 150 cadres of ULFA in Panchu camp out of whom 15 are women cadres. Moreover NDFB, NSCN (K), KYKO camps are situated there , he added. He also disclosed there was no rift among the leaders of ULFA.
