MANGALDAI, Aug 21 - Based on an input received from Cyberdome Guwahati, Darrang Police on Thursday apprehended one Biswajit Deka (33), s/o late Shanti Ram Deka of Dahi village, Tamulipara, under Mangaldai Police Station from his residence.
SP, Darrang Amrit Bhuyan while informing this on Thursday evening said, �During his interrogation and after examining his mobile phone, we got to know that he has been involved in giving publicity to ULFA (I) symbols, revolutionary songs, weapons etc., through Facebook.
He used to operate a Facebook profile in the name of Biswajit Asom and he had contacts over Facebook Messenger with 8/9 unknown profiles who had also used the title of Asom. In this regard, a case (no 440/2020 u/s 120(b)/121/121 A IPC r/w Sec 10/13 of UA(P) act r/w Sec 66(F)(1)(A) of IT act 2020 has been registered against him in Mangaldai Police Station and further interrogation is going on, Bhuyan added.
