ITANAGAR, Jan 9 - Security forces apprehended an ULFA-I cadre from Songkhopani area of Changlang district on Tuesday.
Based on specific inputs received from Army intelligence about the movement of ULFA-I cadres, a joint operation was launched by the Rajputana Rifles and State Police at Songkhopani village under the Kharsang PS during which the ULFA-I cadre was nabbed, said Changlang SP JK Lego.
The arrested cadre has been identified as Ram Bahadur Lama alias Kaila. One pistol with magazine, 15 rounds of live ammunition, three Chinese hand grenades, and one remote IED, weighing approximately 3 kg, with detonator were recovered from him.
A case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 Arms Act, 1959 and the Explosive Substances Act, 1908 has been registered at the Kharsang PS and further investigation is on, the SP added.
