DOOMDOOMA, Aug 22 - ULFA ( I ) militants kidnapped one Kuldip Moran, i.e., Sadiya BJP leader and the vice president of Tinsukia Zila Parishad Ratneswar Moran�s son on August 1 from Arunachal Pradesh.
Ratneswar Moran is a close associate of Sadiya MLA Balin Chetia. ULFA ( I ) has demanded Rs 1 crore from Balin Chetia as ransom.
A video was sent to a section of news channels today in which Kuldip Moran urged his parents MLA Balin Chetia and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to take immediate steps to release him from the hands of the outfit.
In the video, Kuldip also said, �My health has deteriorated as I have been shifted to new hideouts every day by the kidnappers. My life is at stake and at any moment I may die in cross-firing�.
In the meantime, various students� organisations of Tinsukia have urged the ULFA ( I ) chief Paresh Baruah to release Kuldip Moran unconditionally.
