ULFA cadre surrenders

By Correspondent

TINSUKIA, July 31 - An ULFA cadre, Mohidhar Moran alias Ravan Asom, son of Pandubor Moran of Tarani village under the Pengeree Police Station, surrendered to the Tinsukia Police on Thursday. DIG (Law and Order) SN Singh and SP Mugdha Jyoti Mahanta were present at the time of the surrender.

The ULFA cadre handed over an AK-series assault rifle, one magazine, some live cartridges and a hand grenade. The surrender reportedly came in the wake of the pressure mounted by security forces on the ultras since the incident of July 14 at Philobari in which two persons were killed and three others injured in an alleged attack by ULFA militants.
