DOOMDOOMA, April 24 - As part of nationwide observance of Ujjwala Diwas under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), the day was observed at the Balaji Marriage Hall situated at Dholla Bazar near here on Friday.
On this occasion, M/s Allied Gas Services, the LPG distributor of Doomdooma, at the instruction of IOCL, organised a meeting which was chaired by senior journalist and social activist Arjun Baruah.
Deposit-free LPG connections were distributed among 32 women beneficiaries in the event.
Saikhowa HS School�s retired principal Pranati Baruah, Sadiya MLA Bolin Chetia�s representative Churamoni Sharma and journalist Santanu Goswami also attended the programme as guests of honour.
The meeting was anchored by Subhankar Chakraborty, manager of the LPG distribution agency. Around 700 women attended the meeting.
