BADARPUR, April 25 - Synchronizing with the country-wide celebration of Ujjwala Diwas as a part of Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, Railway Town Badarpur also observed the day with great enthusiasm.
To mark the occasion, a meeting was held at Badarpur Ashirbad Bhaban recently under the presidentship of Badarpur Town Committee Vice-Chairman Anita Baruah, where several speakers explained about the significance of the day. They explained about the safety measures to be adopted by the housewives while cooking.
Journalist Prititosh Banik, BJP leader Dipak Dev, Badarpur Town Committee chairman Dipankar Roy Karmakar, Ward Commissioner Sitangsu Roy and several others also addressed the gathering. A total of 100 BPL beneficiaries were offered deposit-free LPG connections and equipment.
