UGC seminar at Khowang College

DIBRUGARH, Jan 18 - A UGC-sponsored national seminar on �Development of Marginalized Sections in Northeast India: Problems and Prospects� was organised at Khowang College, Khowangghat, recently by the Department of Sociology in collaboration with the Khowang College Teachers� Unit.

Scholars, researchers and students from several institutions like NEHU, Sikkim University, Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, Tezpur University, Tata Institute of Social Sciences and Srimanta Sankardev University of Health Sciences, Guwahati, presented research papers in the four technical sessions conducted in the two-day event.

On the second day, Dr Pranjal Sharma, head of the Department of Sociology, Dibrugarh University, Dr Dev Kumar Chakraborty, head of the Department of Economics, Dibrugarh University, associate professor Chura Giri of the Department of Sociology, Margherita College, and Dr Bipul Gogoi, Department of Sociology, Demow College, were present as the resource persons, a release stated.
