GUWAHATI, Aug 19 - The University Grants Commission (UGC) has awarded Professor Emeritus (2015-17) fellow to distinguished teacher Prof Swarnalata Das of the Department of Women�s Studies, Gauhati University.
Prof Das will conduct her recommended research on �Women Empowerment towards Human Resource Development in a University Setting�.
The UGC offers such fellowships to highly knowledgeable and qualified professors of universities and other such higher institutions.
Prof Das got her doctorate from the Centre of Advanced Studies in Education, MS University, Baroda. She has completed several research projects funded by various national bodies like NCERT, NCTE and NIFPA.
She has been associated with different universities at the regional and national levels in different capacities. She has also a long association with national statutory bodies like NCTE and NAAC.
