By Sports reporter

GUWAHATI, June 7 Udalguri Football Club handed a 3-1 drubbing to Guwahati FC in the Assam State Premier League match at the Nehru Stadium here today.

The Udalguri boys made a flying start scoring in the very first minute through Ishak Sangma. He struck again in the 11th minute to put his team 2-0 ahead. Nigerian NG Opara reduced the margin in the 34th minute (2-1) but Soyao Tangkhul sealed the fate of the match firing the third salvo for Udalguri in the 41st minute. The second session went dry as no team could hit the target. However, the margin could have been bigger had Udalguri strikers Ishak and Joseph Olaniran not missed a couple of easy sitters.

Ishak was the star of todays match as he dribbled past atleast three Guwahati FC defenders before beating goalkeeper Kiran Duarah just after the kick off. Ishak anticipated a centre from Joseph and made no mistake in firing home for the second goal.

Guwahati FCs reducer came off a flag kick as Opara controlled the ball from the Rahul Boros kick and beat Udalguri custodian Hunuk Daimari with a volley from inside the box.

Soyao sent a floater from 40 yards to the Guwahati FC box but the ball deflected into the goal off Guwahati FC defender Hunmoni Duwarahs head.

At Dibrugarh, Trinayanjyoti Football Club defeated Moran Town Club 2-0. Sandwm Basumatary (75th minute) and Sunday O Ayuk (85th minute) scored one goal each.
