KALAIGAON, July 29 - Construction work of the proposed Udalguri Engineering College will start shortly.
The above was recently stated by Dilip Kumar Das, Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri district.
Talking to this Correspondent, Deputy Commissioner Das said that an area of land measuring 32 bighas at Nalkhamara village under Ambagaon mouza in Udalguri Revenue Circle has already been handed over to the Assam State Housing Board on July 26.
A RUSA (Rashtriya Uchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) team and DTE (Director of Technical Education) Assam visited the site on July 26 for taking possession of the allotted land. On the occasion, Pinky Borgayari, Revenue Circle Officer of Udalguri handed over the land documents to the visiting AHB (Assam Housing Board) team construction of a permanent college campus.
The members of the visiting team also inspected the temporary campus of Udalguri Engineering College. Representatives of various organisations and people of Udalguri welcomed the move which is expected to fulfil a very long- pending demand for an engineering college in the district.
Presently, there will be three faculties in the proposed engineering college, including Electronics and Telecommunication.
