Udalguri boxers in Assam team

UDALGURI, March 19 - Four students of Udalguri district who are undergoing coaching at the Dhaneswar Basumatary Boxing Training Centre here have qualified for the upcoming East Zone Boxing Championship being organised by the Boxing Federation of India (BFI).

Informing this, Dhaneswar Basumatary, chief coach of the boxing training centre said that Hiranya Boro (48kg, boys), Saya Brahma (42kg, girls), Errica Basumatary (46kg, girls) and Lovely Daimari (30kg, girls) have been selected for the championship to be held at Golaghat from March 24.

Boxers from Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim and West Bengal will take part in the four-day meet.
